Good old WalMart. The next sentence may be hard to believe but it’s true. I travel for my job and hop to different cities almost every day. When there is down time, I like to peruse the local stores. The top store is WalMart. If I see that bright blue sign, my steering wheel aims in that direction! I know, every location can be different. That also includes clearances/sales!

I love WalMart’s clearances. Seeing .50 and $1.00 for a shirt, you bet! I hope the stigma for “cheap clothes” still isn’t there. If so, erase it! I have plenty of clothes from WalMart. We are talking over 5-10 years! Still looking the same and at the same quality.

Well, this brings me to thiYs post. I hope you go to your neighboring WalMart. You may scoop up a deal. The key, make sure you download the Walmart app before hand. Why? Price checker. This will save you heaps of time of going back and forth to the price scanner. All you need to do is download, make sure your signed in. Then in the search bar, you will see a black upc bar code label, that is the price checker. Click on it! This will lead you to access to your camera. Select, allow access while using the app. From there your camera will turn into a scanner, allowing you to scan the bar codes for prices! Kind of cool.

I go in with a fanny pack and phone in tote. This makes it easy for me to whirl around checking prices. Sometimes, I am in the clothes aisles for 2 hours. Yes, 2 hours. It is all worth it. I scored so many shirts for .50 to a $1.00 using price scanner. One time I left WalMart with over 64 different pieces of clothes. All ringing up under $70. That isn’t bad. The cashier asked, where are all these clothes going, lol. I need to head over to the clearance section. Little did she know, I pick up clothes for charity. Yes, people in need. I always think of those when I see a great deal. Why not pick up a few extra to help someone.

Little backstory… I have helped my grandmother “queen of giving and generosity” for over 20 years. Since a kid, I would go around with her, watching her load up her car to give to others. I noticed she didn’t go out bowling or golfing, no. She dedicated most her life and downtime to those in need. She enjoyed it! She never raised an alarm about what she was doing, it was natural. Yes, she loved God/Jesus and modeled after the profound teachings but outside of spirituality, it was naturally apart of her. It just went hand in hand, coincidently!

As I type, I want you to stock up your closet with some great finds. A bargain is awaiting. I posted some of the article of clothing. I picked up in the title picture. The t shirts were between $1.00-$2.00 a piece. A couple I snagged for .50. The bras were $3.o0 a piece. Yes, for a bra. That’s really hard to find, especially when you over a C cup. The bigger your chest, the more it costs! I was elated to see my size (D cup) for $3.00. All good quality.

Now some tips to score a deal. When you peruse the clearance, look for yellow or orange signage (indicating clearance). Even though it says clearance and indicates a price, still check with your price checker (on your phone). Why? It can be a different price, particularly lower! I will give an example. A couple of shirts, mark as clearance $2.00. I checked on my phone, it was .50. I raked up on other shirts. I checked each one to make sure they were .50, they were!

When perusing clearance section, pay attention to the signage. It’s good to check! I know marketing and sales, sometimes you have to pay close attention. I am not talking about deception but, marketing can be tricky. Marketers know you don’t pay attention to all the fine details. By putting things in small fine print, they protect theirselves legally. The whole goal is to wrangle you over to browse, putting up captivating sales price is the bait!

What they don’t tell you is, often, not everything is on sale or of equal price! That is what I am pushing you to with the shirts and any of the racks. Look at the whole signage and pay attention to the fine details. I will give you an example, the t-shirts I snag. On the signage, it says $2.00. Then when you look at the fine small print underneath, you see details. $2.00 for the following shirts coral, $2.00, black $2.00, yellow canary, $2.00, everything else $4.98. This is what you have to pay attention.

Don’t assume the whole rack is the same, when you get to cash register, you will be baffled. Why is ringing up $4.98 when it was advertised for $2.00? They can say, only certain shirts. I want to prevent you for walking a few extra steps.

Now, not to get you confused, I would still recommend scanning the clothes (just in case). Often, you can see what’s on the signage doesn’t match what is priced. I know store lingo, often, they don’t have the time to keep up with all the different changes, that includes clearances.

You may see t-shirt brands (as advertised on signage) not on particular rack. Give an example, Levi t-shirts, they are on the signage but when you browse, no where to be found? You’re probably pissed because they are marked for $1.00. Getting a Levi shirt for a $1.00, you better believe I will be leaving that store with a full cart.

Often, store employees have to find an empty area for clearances. They are busy, having to worry about unpacking, pricing, making sure there no rips/tears and managing other departments. They often don’t have time to change the signage. The manager of the store might be overwhelmed as well and may not think it is necessary to print new signage. Especially if they will continue to incorporate new clearances. It would be a waste of paper (an expense).

So, account for all of this. That is why I recommend using price scanner and still checking the article of clothing. I am not asking you to scan everything, but what you like. This is what I do. I see something I like, I will see if it’s at my ideal price. I have lucked out in scooping up shirts for .50 and $1.00 when clearance tag was marked as $3.00-$5.00. Take your time and browse. Make sure you stretch before coming to the store. If you need to sit, can look for shoe aisle or Subway to rest your legs. Then go back to browsing. You can even bring portable chair. I have 2 of these chairs and great quality. They sit in my car and great for times when I am on the go. If you like to go to park, tail gate, tag sales, or other general on the go activities (require a chair), pick them up.

Now, another tip. You may see an item marked as clearance. When you scan the barcode for that item, you may see the full price. Don’t be alarmed, it’s just the store didn’t reprogram or “tag” the item to reflect the clearance price. Go by the price labeled on the clearance. It has a barcode. Often, this is partially cut off.

Don’t go to self-checkout, go to a human (cashier). Let them know the situation beforehand, this will help keep the line flowing quickly. Calling for assistance at self-checkout can be a pain. Especially if that area is vacant. The whole purpose is to get you in and out and not holding up lines.

I gave you a whole list of tips. I advise scanning items you like and see advertise on clearance. If you see one at a bargain price, check to see if similar as well. Then rack up for the future. We can all use t-shirts, especially outside work, going browsing in store, walk in park, or general leisure.

I have about 32 different t-shirts, all different colors and patterns. I am a fashionista so, I love to look cute as much as possible. I love to wear different combinations, depending on my mood. I also pick up for those in need. I set aside a budget every month. Say, $50.00, that goes to help someone. Sometimes I go over (if I get a bonus or happen to work more hours). Picking up good quality pieces for .50 why not!

I try to donate to organizations that give away donations for free. Boys and Girls Club and local organizations. I check before donating. That’s the whole purpose. Not to have someone shell out money for clothes. Especially, if it will be higher than the price I paid for it.

Nothing against Goodwill or Salvation Army (I donate to them occasionally) but, they have to make profit for a good cause. I know the stores give their overstock to them. That is why, you can score name brand for a good price. Can pick up a pair of Abercrombie & Fitch jeans for $7.00 vs $75.00 in the store!

Clothes never go out of style! No one will know when you purchased them. Would you get rid of $75.00 pair of jeans the following year, no way! You will probably have them for atleast 15-20 years.

I hope you hop over to WalMart and browse. Do so soon! In the WalMart (I was in yesterday), I seen all the bargain t-shirts dumped into a box. I can tell they may be giving them away. I am the type of person who still peruses, as long as the box is open. It’s still available for sale in my eyes, lol. If you’re not comfortable doing this, don’t.

Still, if you can, check WalMart clearances for bargains. It changes week to week. They have to get ready for new styles and merchandise. It’s a cycle. Clothes that weren’t selling or old come to the clearance before they get rid of them. If you see a full price item, wait! In a few months, you may see on clearance rack. I do this all the time.

I know the bathing suits and bikinis will be going on sale probably around end of August or a first week in August. They have to get ready for fall apparel. Plus, it’s out of season.

Just a tip, if you’re looking for seasonal clothes, try to shop out of season! They are usually on clearance rack. The stores are itching for them to move off the shelves so they can prepare for new clothes. They need shelf space. For example, it’s the summer, you may see sweaters on the rack for a good clearance price. In the winter, you may see shorts and swimwear on clearance.
